COMPANY MILESTONES

Incorporated in 1970, Asia Fiber Public Company Limited (AFC) is, today, Thailand’s leading manufacturer of high quality nylon-6 products. Originally a Thai-Taiwanese joint venture, AFC started production in 1972 with promotion privileges from the Board of Investment (BOI).

In 1977, AFC was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and gradually became a completely Thai operation.

In 1984, AFC introduced the first high-speed water jet loom in Thailand to produce nylon TAFFETA

In 1993, 1994 and 1995, AFC was granted the Asian Management Awards for General Management, Information Technology to enhance the competitive position of the company.

In 1995, AFC was among the first few textile manufacturers to achieve ISO 9002 standards, certified by DNV.

In 2002, AFC attained the highly proclaimed ISO 9001:2000 for all its operations, and achieved ISO 14000 for its production of nylon chip and filament yarn. For over three decades, AFC has played an important part in Thailand's textile industry. AFC also achieved OKO-TEX Standard 100 from TESTEX SWISS TEXTILE TESTING INSTITUTE for nylon textured dyed yarn with want granted our nylon texture products were reached world wide standard. With the spirit and ingenuity of its people, AFC will continue to play a constructive part in the future, contributing to the growth and prosperity of the industry of Thailand.

PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE

With a 33,000 sq.m. modern factory complex located in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate, 33.5 Km. south east of Bangkok, and awork force of 1,300 working three shifts around the clock. AFC’s vertically integrated processes have a daily capacity of 47 tons of nylon chips, 33 tons of filament, 14 tons of textured yarn and 100,000 yards of woven fabric. Inspections are done at each intermediate step to screen out defective materials from the final processes. Finished products are also sample-checked using high technology test equipments and procedures, while Q&D department is continuously endeavoring to improve and maintain process controls for a higher overall quality level.
